Turks & Caicos - Scrofani Anniversary

Hi Teresa

I wanted to say thanks again for helping us out with our Turks and Caicos trip. We had a lovely time, despite mother nature’s attempt to stop it. (Haha) It rained about half the time, but ended up being a good thing because the sun was very strong and we didn’t want to burn. The hotel (Gansevoort Turks and Caicos) was amazing, the service was great, but the food was so/so (and pricey). We absolutely loved the island and would recommend it to anyone.

We will keep in touch for our future trips. Thanks again.

Cap Juluca Anguilla - Cantonis Honeymoon

Cap Juluca in Anguilla was incredible. First of all the travel was seamless, all of the transfers were on time, clean and delightful.

We got to Cap Juluca on a total honeymoon high and were awestruck at how beautiful our oceanfront junior suite was. The manager sent us a bottle of Champagne and we ate at Pimms Restaurant the first night. The food was incredible and so was the weather. The next morning we did notice a couple of things that Mary did not feel were up to the Cap Juluca billing such as a few stains on the couch upholstery as well as some ants in the close. Because she had emailed the manager back in January when we were shopping around and had a good correspondence with him she emailed him her concerns during our first morning. He invited her to his office and 30 minutes after the meeting we received a phone call from the concierge saying we had been upgraded to a oceanfront private pool one bedroom villa! For the next 9 nights we had the unit complete with its butler and private golf cart. It was an incredible experience and probably ended up saving us money because we ordered room service 3 nights and even cooked for ourselves one night in our kitchen.

We took this video and posted it to youtube for my grandmothers to see. " mce_href="/">Click here to see our video

The service at the hotel was spectacular. Albert our butler was incredible, not that I've ever had a butler before to compare him too. The concierge was extremely nice as were almost 100% of the staff. Obviously I am in love with Gary Thulander the manager.

The villa we were moved to was immaculate; the same cannot be said for the junior suite. I think 5-7 days would be the longest you could last in a junior suite without getting a bit of cabin fever. I could live forever in the villa and not get tired of it.

The complementary exercise classes every morning on the beach are awesome. Cardi Conner is the beach fitness trainer and does a free class every day at 8:00 AM. Cardi really knows his stuff and has some cool stories from his major league crickett days. The class is an excellent way to burn off the night before's desert and get the new day started.

The food prices, not just at the resort but off it too, were absurd. At Pimms the first night we had 1 bottle of wine, 1 app to split, 2 entrees and a desert to split and it was $300. As a rule of thumb everything seemed to be overpriced by about 30%. Veya, an off resort restaurant was also $300 with round trip cab fare coming to $70 on top of it. I knew to expect all of that though so it wasn't a shock, had it been I may have been upset. They gave us a gift for booking through you, it was our choice of lunch or a sunset cruise. We chose sunset cruise but it got canceled due to weather so they let us switch to snorkeling with was allot of fun as well.

All in all it was a great trip, I would definitely go back but not for 10 days unless I could afford that suite again.

You were wonderful throughout the process! Thank you for everything!

Real Honeymoon - Riviera Maya, Mexico - Jessica and Alejandro Salas

Maroma Beach is about 40 minutes south of Cancun and 25 minutes north of Playa del Carmen. It is voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world by the travel channel because unlike some of the other areas of Mexico (east and west coast) there is zero surf- the water is perfectly calm, clear and warm. You can walk probably about 200 yards and it's still below the waist deep. Really pretty angel fish too.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite at the El Dorado, an all-inclusive, and LOVED IT. One thing- we're not too adventurous with little critters so we really didn’t make use of our fabulous balcony (we were out all day and at night there were lizards frogs and other things I would prefer stay outside and not in my room). Next time, I'd pick a swim up suite but the honeymoon suite was really big in size and very private. The place is kind of in the middle of nowhere - you drive through a 5 minute jungle to get to it but it's really pretty at the end of the road! It's a smaller all inclusive (I have never stayed in one but Alex has in several)- they didnt make us wear bracelets and it wasn’t massive BUT small= service was fantastic. There was 1 restaurant that had a buffet for breakfast and lunch (themed by day for lunch) that was actually pretty good! There was also a Mexican place that had themed special dinners (not all Mexican), Italian and Japanese. We didn't care for the dinners- but we only tried 2 (Mayan theme night and Japanese). However, the AI was worth it for the breakfast/lunch and drinks alone!

For dinner- we went to Playa del Carmen- $50 USD cab ride (25 each way) but we really lucked out and found a cab driver the first night that we were able to call the rest of the trip and he was there to pick us up within 20 minutes. The $50 cab ride was worth it for the 2 peso authentic tacos at this really cool place we found in Playa del Carmen called La Patrona, We also had a nice dinner Yaxche Maya Cuisine…It was SUPER!

Excursions - We did a Mayan ruins tour of Tulum and Coba - both are amazing! Tulum is on the beach and Coba is in the jungle- you get bikes to ride and then you climb up this giant pyramid! That tour also included Akamal - the beach where if you are a good swimmer you can snorkel out to see the sea turtles. I am not- but the kids end was lovely lol.

We also did Indiana Joes Tour (at Aktun Chen) that included zip lining, a cave tour and then snorkeling in a cenote. Also in that area are 3 giant natural water parks where you can swim with all kinds of fish, jump in cenotes and zip line through the jungle- X'caret, Xplor and Xel-ha.
