Days 1 & 2
Location: Shanghai
Description: Upon arrival, you will be met on arrival and taken to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure, which may include a stroll along the famed Bund with views of the ships on the river and the skyscrapers of Pudong. On Day 2, visit the serene Yu Garden, the Jade Buddha Temple and Shanghai Museum. Walk the bustling shopping streets of Nanjing and Huai Hai Road. (B)

Days 3 & 4
Location: Hangzhou
Description: Enjoy scenes of the countryside with a first-class train ride to Hangzhou, one of the most beautiful cities in China. Your afternoon city tour includes a boat ride on lovely West Lake and a visit to Guo Village. The next day includes a full day-tour of Lingyin Temple, one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China, the Six Harmonies Pagoda, a true masterpiece of Chinese architecture, and a visit to a tea plantation. Days 5 & 6
Location: Guilin
Description: In the morning, fly to picturesque Guilin. That afternoon take an excursion to the charming Daxu Old Town, which dates its history back to 200 A.D. The following day enjoy a full-day Li River excursion from Guilin to Yangshuo. View breathtaking panoramas made famous in Chinese art and scenes of peasants in their rice fields. (2B)

Days 7 & 8
Location: Kunming
Description: After a Guilin city tour highlighted by visits to the Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Trunk Hill, fly to Kunming. Visit the renowned Stone Forest — a geological phenomenon of striking, densely placed limestone pillars. Then drive to a village of the Sani Tribe, a branch of the Yi minority known for their diligence, embroidery and dancing. (2B)

Day 9
Location: Dali
Description: Fly to Dali in the morning. The ancient city of Dali is home to the Bai minority. Its spectacular Three Pagodas date back over 1,000 years and are the symbol of the city. Enjoy a trip on Erhai Lake with its islands, temples and fishing villages. Explore Old Town Dali at your leisure. (B)

Days 10 & 11
Location: Lijiang
Description: Drive to Lijiang with a stop at Xizhou village to visit the morning market. In the afternoon, visit the breathtaking Black Dragon Pond and the Old Town of Lijiang. The following day take a chairlift ride to view the scenery of Yak Meadow, then visit Baisha Village to see the fascinating Buddhist frescos and explore Yuhu Village. (2B)

Days 12 & 13
Location: Zhongdian
Description: On the drive to Zhongdian, visit Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the world’s deepest river canyons. Known as the setting for the mythical Shangri-La, Zhongdian has stunningly beautiful landscapes. Visit the 17th-century Garden Songzanglin Monastery and enjoy a visit to a Tibetan family in old town. Days 14 – 16
Location: Sanya
Description: In the morning, fly to Kunming and enjoy a Kunming city tour. Then take an evening flight to Sanya, a resort city with some of China’s most beautiful beaches. Visit Nanshan Temple with its replicas of Tang Dynasty architecture and see the 350-foot-high Guanyin Statue of Hainan. Day 16 is set aside for relaxing, an optional golf tour or optional fishing tour. (3B)

Day 17
Fly from Sanya to either Hong Kong or Beijing to continue your journey or for your return flight home. (B)
