Riviera Maya and Belize - Shafton Honeymoon

While I organize our photos from Mexico and Belize, I'd like to provide my future brides and newlyweds with a little honeymoon planning tip... GET HELP! Unless you have super human powers, it is incredibly difficult to plan a wedding and a 2-week long vacation at the same time. Especially if your future spouse isn't a planner and you've been dreaming about your honeymoon since your very first plane ride.

So I reached out to Teresa of Honeymoon Islands. And I'm so glad I did. My initial research got us to the Riviera Maya. But Teresa got us to our accommodations. She gave us a list of special spots according to our personalities and travel desires. For instance, she knew that first thing after the wedding, we'd love The Viceroy in Playa Del Carmen due to its luxurious vibe and romantic seclusion. She was right. She knew we'd enjoy Blancaneaux Lodge and Turtle Inn, the two Coppola resorts in Belize because of their boutique feel and rustic charm. She was right.

Before we set off, she made us a detailed personalized itinerary with all of our confirmation numbers, contact information, and maps. This handy guide was a life saver. And with her connections in the industry, we got some perks! Special honeymoon treatment we wouldn't have gotten otherwise: rose petals and candles, a room upgrade, and complimentary massages.

But I have to say, the best part about working with her was the assurance that she had my back. Some billing problems came up a week before the wedding. She stepped in and took care of it. I sent her a frantic email from Tulum with worries about the Belize-to-Mexico transfer company not confirming our pick-up. She immediately called them from the States and within a few hours, they emailed me with an apology and and ended up arriving 15 minutes early.

Thank you again, Teresa, for all your advice and guidance. With your help, our honeymoon was just as we had dreamed.

Antigua - Gaffoglio Anniversary

We have used Teresa at Honeymoon Islands for our vacation plans a number of times and she has always done an outstanding job for us. Her experience and knowledge of the places she recommends is second to none. She always has very good suggestions on vacation destinations and accommodations, and she offers terrific insight and guidance in helping you make any and all decisions. Teresa handled all of the details for our trip with the utmost competence and professionalism. I would highly recommend her services.

Hermitage Bay in Antigua was exactly what we were looking for! It was very quiet, relaxing and romantic. The weather wasn’t the greatest last week but it didn’t impact us too much. We were still able to have dinner on the beach, and we also did the picnic lunch on a private beach which I would highly recommend. Thank you as well for sending the wine and cheese plate to our room. It was delicious! The view from our room (#31) was terrific as we could see the sea in two directions. That’s definitely one of the better hillside cottages to get (this was not just our opinion but the opinion of many of the staff as well).

As always, we greatly appreciated your help with this trip, both in correctly identifying what we were looking for and of course for picking a great spot! I think we are still targeting Napa Valley next fall, and so I’ll be sure to contact you for that and/or any other vacations for us. Thanks again!

Cap Juluca Anguilla - Geissler Honeymoon

Our honeymoon was wonderful! The travel documents were a great help and were organized so that there was no issue whatsoever in getting to Cap Juluca. Your help in choosing Cap Juluca was great too. We went to the Viceroy for dinner one night and were glad that we chose to stay at Cap Juluca. The Moorish style appearance of the villas were very cool and we thought more fun than the modern looking rooms at the Viceroy would have been. We also stopped by the bar there and it was worth it. Unfortunately, only Pimms was open at Cap Juluca so we didn't get to try out Spice or Blue. Pimms had great food and a spectacular view. I have never eaten in a restaurant with waves rolling right up to me. We ventured off the resort to Mango, la Dolce Vita, Coba, and the Straw Hat and had delicious meals everywhere. We didn't go to Veya, but heard that was a good place too. It is right near Dolce Vita. The taxis were a little expensive (i know, everything is on an island) and we were happy with the closer places we did go to. The beach was very nice and just outside our door. It was nice that the watersports were free to guests of the resort and we took full advantage of the 3:00pm sorbet on the beach every day once we learned about it. The staff were all very friendly and courteous.

One thought we had was that it was kinda necessary to check in at the conceierge every other day or so to see what activities were going on. We had wanted to go on a boat trip to do some snorkeling and it was canceled due to not enough people signed up one day, but we were unaware of the trip that was scheduled for the next day, and they didn't tell us until we stopped in to ask if there was a place off-resort to do such a trip. We had a great time and came back happy and relaxed. I would not hesitate to use your services again next time we need an island getaway.

Antigua - Walker Honeymoon

Our honeymoon in Antigua was exactly what we envisioned, thanks to Teresa! She helped us narrow down the plethora of options to the best place for us- Hermitage Bay- which was the perfect mix of luxury, seclusion and quality service. Although it was at the upper end of our budget, it was worth it to literally be in paradise after a hectic wedding weekend and we were in good hands with Honeymoon Islands attentive service up to and including a personal airport shuttle, private beachside picnic-- never having to worry about a single detail!
