We had an amazing time on our Oceania Cruise, the Marina was such a luxurious ship and it was terrific way to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in style. We can’t say enough good things about the ship, it was the epitome of elegance. The staff was extremely attentive and food was simply superb. There are so many wonderful things about this cruise, it is hard to say what part was our favorite. The dining options of the Marina was plentiful, including the four specialty restaurants. The quality of cuisine and extensive wine list exceeded our expectations (being New Yorkers this means a lot). Every meal was special and the staff went out of their way to accommodate any of our requests. The excursions were so well planned and there were lots of options. The ship’s culinary center (affiliated with the Culinary Institute of America), run by the executive chef of the Marina was so much fun, I learned some basic and advanced techniques and made the most delicious paella!
We were fortunate to have Jacques Pepin on board who had several cooking demonstrations. We participated in a wine tasting class which was probably the best we’ve ever done. On days when we wanted to just relax, we hung out by the pool and visited the Canyon Ranch Spa. Afterwards, we would go to afternoon tea and enjoy wonderful French pastries with tea. I can’t think of a better way to have spent our 10-year anniversary.
