The
Fijian Culture
The Fijians'
history suggests a well-organized society long before European arrivals
in the 16th century. Fiji became a British colony in 1874 and won her
independence in 1970, leaving the country English speaking. In the
villages, the local Fijian history is recorded in authentic song and
dance and performed in Meke ceremonies which as guests of Namale,
you are privileged to enjoy during your visit. The women, the children
and the elders of the village come to sing, dance, and play the drums,
it will be one of the most enjoyable highlights of your holiday! |
